The same engineers, on the same buildings
We do not rotate crews to fill a rota. Once a team knows your site — where the drains run, which unit trips first in May — the call-out gets shorter and the diagnosis gets better.

About the firm
Airtrix Engineers is a Chennai air conditioning contractor — not a dealership and not a distributor. We size systems, install them, and then look after them, mostly for customers who came to us once with a breakdown and stayed.
Who we are
Airtrix Engineers works out of Adayar and has been putting in and looking after air conditioning around Chennai since 2006. Residential, commercial, cold rooms and clean rooms — most of it within a couple of hours’ drive of the office, which is deliberate. We would rather be a firm that turns up than one with pins on a map.
The business is built around service rather than sales. We keep our own workshop, hold a stock of the spares that actually fail, and run our own fitters and engineers instead of subcontracting the work to whoever is free that week. When you call about a fault, the person who picks up can usually tell you what is installed on your site.
Somewhere over 1,500 customers have come through in that time — hotels, colleges, hospitals, software offices, factories, showrooms and a good number of houses. A lot of them started with one breakdown call and stayed.

On site, out of hours
“Our strength is being able to give unparalleled service at an unparalleled price.”
How we work
None of this is unusual in the trade. It is just uncommon enough that customers mention it.

We do not rotate crews to fill a rota. Once a team knows your site — where the drains run, which unit trips first in May — the call-out gets shorter and the diagnosis gets better.
02
An underpriced quote gets found out at the invoice stage. Ours are itemised down to the make and model so you can see exactly what the difference is between two options.
03
Fitters, ducting, piping and electricals are ours. When something needs doing again, there is no argument about whose responsibility it was.
04
We hold stock of the parts that actually fail — contactors, capacitors, sensors, fan motors. It is the difference between a room being cold tonight or on Thursday.
How a job runs
This is the sequence for almost everything we take on, from a single ductable unit to a full guest-floor replacement.
Site visits are free anywhere in Chennai. We measure up, look at the electrical supply, work out where the outdoor units can actually go, and ask how the space gets used through the day.
Itemised — equipment, ducting, piping, electricals, labour — with the make and model against each line. If there is a cheaper way to get the same result, it will be on the sheet as an option.
Which areas, in what order, at what hours. In a hotel or a hospital this matters more than the price, so it gets settled before anyone lifts a spanner.
Our own fitters, our own supervision. At the end we balance the air, prove the controls, and hand over drawings that match what is actually installed.
Most customers move onto an annual contract after the warranty year. Either way, the same team picks up when you call, and they already know your site.

Ravi Subramanian
Founder & Managing Director
Ravi started Airtrix after two decades on site, and the firm still works the way he did then: go and look at the job, quote what it really costs, and be reachable afterwards. He is on site often enough that most of our long-standing customers have his number rather than the office one.
The habit he has pushed hardest is keeping the same engineers on the same buildings. It is slower to set up and it is the reason a call about a fault usually ends with someone saying “that will be the unit on the east terrace” before anyone has driven over.
Chennai and the districts around it — Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and down the ECR as far as Mahabalipuram. Beyond that we will still quote, but we will say plainly how long a call-out would take.
Ring the office and ask for Ravi. If it is a job we are not right for, we will say so and usually point you at someone who is.
