Guest floors, lobby and kitchen, kept running through the season
Accord Metropolitan runs close to full through most of the year, so almost none of this work could happen in daylight. We split the guest floors into blocks of rooms, took a block out at a time, and had it back in service before the next check-in.
The lobby and banquet side was the harder part. Both are tall spaces with a lot of glass, and the original throw was leaving warm pockets near the entrance. We reworked the diffuser layout and rebalanced the air rather than adding tonnage.
We now hold the annual maintenance contract for the property, which means quarterly service on every unit and an engineer on call for breakdowns.
