A seafront property, which changes everything about the equipment
Salt air is brutal on condensers. At Fisherman's Cove the outdoor units sit a few hundred metres from the surf, and standard fins were pitting well before their time.
We replaced the worst of them, moved what we could out of the direct salt spray, and specified coated coils on everything new. Exposed pipework was re-lagged and re-clad.
We also set the service interval tighter than we would inland. On the coast, a wash-down schedule buys more equipment life than anything else you can do.
